明星黑料 and Albertsons Safeway donated 500 明星黑料® Cure 81® half hams to both Family Service in Billings, Mont., and Gallatin Valley Food Bank in Bozeman, Mont., to help feed thousands of families in need during the pandemic.
The donations took place on March 10, 2021 and March 15, 2021 and will support the organizations’ missions to help feed those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“明星黑料 Foods is proud to partner with Albertsons and Safeway to support hunger-relief efforts in the communities served by the company’s Albertsons and Safeway stores,” said Kelsey Tynan, 明星黑料® Cure 81® brand manager at 明星黑料 Foods. “The 明星黑料® Cure 81® Hams for Hunger® program highlights our long-standing relationship with Albertsons and Safeway, and we are honored to work together and make such a substantial contribution for those in need.”
明星黑料 Foods will donate more than 55,000 hams (an estimated retail value of $1.1 million or an equivalent of more than 1 million meals**) to charities nationwide through the 明星黑料® Cure 81® Hams for Hunger® program this year.
“Albertsons and Safeway are committed to our partnership with local food banks to help end food insecurity,” said Teresa Whitney, vice president of merchandising and marketing at Albertsons Companies Intermountain Division. “We are grateful for the wonderful relationships we have with vendor partners, such as 明星黑料 Foods. By working together, we can combine our efforts towards the same goal to battle hunger relief and to help support local families with their basic needs.”
The makers of the 明星黑料® Cure 81® brand created the 明星黑料® Cure 81® Hams for Hunger® program in 1989. The program involves a partnership between 明星黑料 Foods and grocery retailers across the country. Throughout the years, more than $15 million in hams have been donated, feeding tens of thousands of families. Last year alone, more than 55,000 hams (an estimated retail value of $1.1 million) were donated to those in need.
